Bruce
& Karen Duell
Bruce
and Karen Duell have been serving under the Urban
Intercultural Mission of the Evangelical Free Church since
1988. They live in the culturally diverse area of South
City Park which is one block north of East Colfax. During
this time they have planted three churches, worked with
neighborhood youth and families, (youth groups, tutoring,
mentoring, summer camps, etc.) started a ministry to people
with disabilities, and networked with Denver Public
Schools. Through their 18 years of experience ministering
in the inner-city they are convinced that the best way to
reach this culturally diverse area is to see a network of
churches started. This means that Ancient Paths Church will
intentionally and aggressively work at starting a network
of churches to be that “vibrant family of Jesus” which
every community needs.

The Starr Family
(Desi
& Rose)
Desi
and Rose Starr have been living in the Five Points
neighborhood since October of 2003 when they moved to
Denver as inner-city missionaries. They have been working
in neighborhood ministries with youth, homeless teens,
urban poor, neighbors and Denver Public School students.
Desi had been a youth pastor for five years at Calvary
Chapel of Murrieta, California. Sensing God’s heart for
urban missions they came to Denver to be involved in church
planting. God has merged the Starr’s, Duell’s and Carrie to
start a network or house churches.

Carrie Schnur
Carrie Schnur
has the privilege of working with a group of people who are
diverse economically, racially and multi-generational. She
has been living and ministering in the inner city of Denver
since 1994. Throughout this time, she has planted two
churches with an emphasis on community outreach - focusing
on single moms, single grandmas, and their families. She is
now excited to help grow a network of house churches in the
inner city. Carrie spends the majority of her time
mentoring, tutoring, and building relationships in her
community. The door to her home is open to all as she leads
Tuesday night church, youth group and various other
activities. Every activity is open for people in the
neighborhood, with the hopes of bringing all people groups
together and making disciples for the Kingdom of
God.

*Bruce, Carrie
and Desi are all inner-city missionaries who raise their
own support and do not take salaries from the church. They
meet regularly to pray and seek God's will for the network
of churches. They are individually involved in various
activities and ministries in Denver as well as meeting with
individuals to mentor and coach them. Rose volunteers her
time to keep this website updated, connect people into
LTG's and is our financial secretary.
